Gary Reiss
President

Gary Reiss, son of the company’s founder Irv Reiss, has been managing the company with his brother since, Art, 2000. Gary works in all aspects of company operations, sales to account management. The Reiss brothers set the standards and tone for doing business with like-minded entrepreneurs, business professionals with a clear focus on where their business is going, and how to get there.

Prior to joining the family’s business, he spent 11 years as general counsel to Fremont Financial Corporation and its predecessor Commonwealth Financial, a large national finance company.

Gary earned his BS in Economics from USC Riverside, and a Juris Doctorate law degree from Stanford University School of Law.

Arthur Reiss
Senior Vice President

Art Reiss joined State Financial in 1977 and has a keen understanding of the mechanics of State Financial's business. With his congenial personality and endearing sense of humor, Art enjoys meetings with clients as much as they do him.

Art served as a director for the Commercial Finance Conference of California from 1995 to 2010. Prior to joining State Financial, Art was on accounting side of the financial services industry
.
Art has a Bachelors in Accounting from California State University, Northridge and is now splitting his time between the office and traveling, golfing and skiing.

Mark Hamburg
Senior Vice President

Mark Hamburg has over 30 years of experience in banking and finance. He was formerly a Senior Vice President and Loan Team Leader with City National Bank, and most recently Mark was the South Bay Regional Manager for 1st Century Bank. He has specialized in asset-based finance since 1985 and adds value by helping our prospective customers decide if and why they should consider alternatives to bank financing.

Mr. Hamburg has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from California State University, Northridge and resides in Rancho Palos Verdes with his wife and daughter.

Luz Glickman
Vice President

Luz Glickman joined State Financial in 1993 and has over 25 years of asset based lending experience. In her first 14 years at State Financial Ms. Glickman was a Portfolio Manager and Operations Manager. She is currently Vice President and one of State Financial’s senior business development officers. Prior to working in the asset based lending industry, Luz was in banking.

Luz has two daughters and in her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach, traveling, golf and skiing.

B. Edward Avalos, Jr.
Vice President

With over 40 years in the banking and finance industry, Mr. Avalos is responsible for monitoring accounts as well as performing audits of prospective and existing clients. In addition he meets with clients, analyzes financial statements and approves loan advances. Prior to joining State Financial in 1996, Mr. Avalos held positions at Security Pacific National Bank and Commonwealth Financial Corporation among other prominent financial services companies.

When not working Ed likes to travel and spend time with his grandson Taylor.

Mansy Tabibnia
Account Executive

Mansy Tabibnia is Persian American and was educated in England. She immigrated to America in 1986, joining us in February of 2007 when American Bancorp, with whom she was a collections and credit manager since 1994, merged with State Financial Corporation. Ms. Tabibnia has over 16 years experience in accounts receivable financing.

In her spare time, she likes to attend physiology seminars, enjoys Persian literature and poems, follows international political and economic affairs and enjoys walking, going to the gym and traveling.

Imelda Cervantes
Account Executive

Imelda Cervantes joined State Financial Corporation in 2007. She graduated from University of California, Irvine in 2006 with a Bachelor degree in Political Science and a minor in Criminology. She previously worked for the Los Angeles Superior Court as an assistant to the administration of the JusticeCorps program. Imelda has fulfilled a number of accounting roles along her professional career culminating in the position at State where Imelda manages a portion of the company’s Portfolio. Imelda is a professional dedicated to building value-driven relationships with each client she serves.

Imelda enjoys going to the beach and spending time outdoors with her dogs. She also enjoys the arts and spends her time painting, visiting museums and taking flamenco classes. She resides in Long Beach with her husband.
